Why Join Rotary
Club Meetings
The club meets every Thursday at 7:15 a.m. for approximately an hour. The meetings include a song, the pledge, an invocation, club business, and a speaker.
Attendance
Per the Rotary International Constitution, which the club has adopted and follows, members are required to attend or make up at least 50% of your club's meetings in each half of the year, attend at least 30% of your club's meetings in each half of the year, and a member may not miss or fail to make up four consecutive meetings.
Make Ups
A make up constitutes the following:
- Attend a meeting of another club
- Attend a meeting of an Interact Club
- Attend a district or Rotary International meeting
- Participate in club-sponsored events or service projects
- Attend a club board or service committee meeting
- Participate in an E-Club meeting for at least 30 minutes
It is the member's responsibility to notify the Club Secretary of any make ups. Members will be given a credit for their meal for any make up from another Rotary Club.
Dues
Members are required to pay their dues at the beginning of each quarter. Meals are included with the dues. The current due structure per quarter is as follows:
- Rotary International dues $15.00
- District dues $14.00
- Club dues $12.00
- Meals (13 meals @ $8) $104.00
- Total quarterly dues $145.00
Members are also encouraged to pay a dollar each week to the "milk bottle" (the money is used to support special donations and Rotary Foundation), pay for birthdays ($5 to have the entire club to sing and $10 for specific groups or persons. Supports the Foundation), and pay $25 every November to pay for the Children's Christmas party gifts.
New Member Requirements
New members are required to participate in at least one committee during the Rotary year.
New members are required to pay an admission fee of $55, which pays for the member's Rotary pin, name badge, Rotary membership certificate and Rotary shirt.
